ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the status and influencing factors of activities of daily living (ADL), anxiety and depression of the community-dwelling elderly, and to explore the mediating effect of social support and social participation on ADL, anxiety and depression. Methods:A questionnaire survey was conducted from July to October 2022, among 637 residents over 60 years old registered in the Community Health Service Center of Taiyuan Economic and Technological Development Zone selected by simple random sampling method. The general information questionnaire, Activities of Daily Living (ADL) scale, Anxiety Self-assessment Scale, Depression Self-assessment Scale, Social Support Scale, and Social Participation Scale were used in the survey. The dichotomous logistic regression model was used to analyze the influencing factors of disability, anxiety, and depression of the elderly. Structural equation modeling was used to verify the mediating effects of social participation and social support on the ADL and mental health status in the elderly. Results:The disability rate of the elderly in the community was 42.9%(258/602). Age( OR=2.87-4.91), acute disease attack in the last three months( OR=2.03),poor economic status( OR=2.39), impaired social participation ability( OR=4.07, 11.75) and low level of social support( OR=2.37) were risk factors for disability of the elderly in the community. The incidence of anxiety symptoms was 22.7%(137/602). The risk factors of anxiety were having more than one chronic disease ( OR=2.24), poor economic status ( OR=2.27), mild and intermediate impairment of social participation ability( OR=6.97, 180.43)and low level of social support( OR=2.04). The incidence of depressive symptoms was 19.4%(117/602). The risk factors of depression were acute disease attack in the past three months ( OR=1.90), loneliness in the past three months ( OR=2.17), impaired social participation ( OR=4.17) and low level of social support ( OR=3.90). The direct effect of ADL on mental health was 0.204 (Bootstrap 95% CI:0.081-0.330), accounting for 34.58% of the total effect. The mediating effects of social participation and social support on ADL and mental health were 0.343 (Bootstrap 95% CI:0.274-0.418) and 0.042 (Bootstrap 95% CI:0.015-0.075) respectively, accounting for 58.13% and 7.12% of the total effect. Conclusions:Social support and social participation are not only the common influencing factors of ADL, anxiety and depression of the community-dwelling elderly, but also have a mediating effect on ADL and mental health. Promoting the social participation of the community-dwelling elderly and increasing social support can improve both ADL and mental health for them.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND@#With the rapid spread of novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) worldwide and the escalation of prevention and control efforts, the routine medical needs of patients have been restricted. The aims were to investigate medical needs of lung cancer patients and their mental health status during the epidemic periods, so as to provide rational recommendations for subsequent diagnosis and treatment.@*METHODS@#The questionnaire was sent in the form of an electronic questionnaire at 7am on 4th, March, 2020, until 7am 6th, March, 2020, 368 questionnaires were recollected from 25 provinces (autonomous regions/municipalities) in 48 h.@*RESULTS@#Of the 368 patients, 18 patients were excluded as they didn't receive anti-tumor treatment, and 350 patients were included in the final analysis. 229 cases were treated with oral targeted drugs, and 121 cases were treated with chemotherapy or immunotherapy. 41.3% of patients treated with intravenous chemotherapy or immunotherapy experienced treatment discontinuation, and the proportion of treatment discontinuation in chemotherapy or immunotherapy was higher than those treated with oral targeted drugs (21.0%). Whether oral targeted drugs or intravenous chemotherapy or immunotherapy, more than 60% of patients experienced delays in imaging examinations. Nearly one third of patients developed new symptoms or exacerbation of existing symptoms. 26.6%-28.9% of patients have changed their treatment plans through online consultation. During novel coronavirus pneumonia, 40%-75% of lung cancer patients have mental health problems, and more than 95% of patients support government's prevention and control measures.@*CONCLUSIONS@#During the emergence of NCP, the medical needs of patients with lung cancer have not been enough, especially those who discontinued chemotherapy or immunotherapy. When medical institution resumes work, priority should be given to them. At the same time, mental health problems of patients should be valued and resolved timely.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the compatible stability of Voriconazole for injection after mixed with Fructose injec-tion or Invert sugar injection. METHODS:Referring to package inserts,Voriconazole for injection 200 mg was dissolved with Wa-ter for injection to 20 mL,and then combined with Fructose injection 250 mL and Invert sugar injection 250 mL,respectively. At room temperature, the appearance of mixtures were observed 0,1,2,3,4,5 h after mixing, and pH value and the number of in-soluble particles were determined;the content of voriconazole was determined by HPLC. RESULTS:Under above condition, the appearance and pH value of mixtures had no significant change within 5 h;the number of particles ≥10 μm and ≥25 μm were all in line with the standard of Chinese Pharmacopoeia (2015 edition);the relative content of voriconazole was decreasing (95.28%-100%),but it changed within ±5%(RSD<2%,n=6). CONCLUSIONS:Voriconazole for injection could keep stable within 5 h after mixed with Fructose injection or Invert sugar injection.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate brain function alteration in early onset schizophrenia by amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (ALFF) based on resting-state functional MRI (fMRI). Method Twenty patients with early on?set schizophrenia and 20 sex, age, education years matched healthy controls underwent resting-state functional MRI. The difference in ALFF was compared between patients and controls. Result Compared with control group, the ALFF values in patient group increased in the left frontal gyrus, precuneus, cingulate cortex, occipital lobe, parahippocampal gyrus and calcarine (P<0.05, AlphaSim revised), while decreased in the right superior temporal lobe and the posterior lobe of cerebellum (P<0.05, AlphaSim revised). Conclusion There are abnormal ALFF in multiple regions in early onset schizo?phrenia, suggesting that early onset schizophrenia may have altered in resting-state brain activity.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study autonomic nerve regulator character and arrhythmias in the patients with essential hypertension(EH) and coronary heart disease(CHD). Methods The heart rate variability(HRV) and arrhythmias in 50 EH, 44 CHD, 52 EH + CHD patients and 35 healeh elderly subjects were investigated. Results There were significant differences of HRV in the patients with EH, CHD and healthy elderly subjects(P<0.05).There was much significant difference of HRV between the patients with EH + CHD and healthy elderly subjects(P<0.01), but no significant difference of HRV between the patients with EH and CHD(P>0.05). The incidence rate of the premature atrial contraction, premature ventriculax contraction and atrial tachycardia in EH, CHD, EH+CHD and healthy elderly subjects, there were much significant differences( P<0.01 ). Except the incidence rate of premature atrial contraction there was significant difference between the patients in CHD and EH + CHD (P<0.05) ,and no significant differences of the incidence rate of other kinds of arrhythmias in the patients with EH,CHD and EH + CHD(P>0.05 ). Conclusion The autonomic never function of EH and CHD patients was damaged, and the incidence rate of arrhythmias was increased(the premature atrial contraction often happened, then the premature ventricular contraction), and arrhymias happened in EH + CHD patients is most oftenly. The vagal hypoacfivity and sympathetic hyperactivity were major causes of reduction of HRV and probable causes in the elderly patients.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate mental symptoms of SARS patients and its related factors for three period-admission, discharge and three months after SARS crisis and to carry out mental intervention and effect evaluation. Methods The mental problems of SARS patients in three periods of admission, discharger and three months after discharger were continuously investigated.114 SARS patients came from seven designated hospitals in Taiyuan of Shanxi. The participants were assessed by self- compiled stressor Questionnaire, PSSS, SCSQ, SES, SCL-90 and EPQ.Results 1.Change tendency of factor score: The SCL-90 total and factors scores including obsessive-compulsion, phobic anxiety went up during discharge compared with admission. After that, these factors scores went down. The factors scores of somatization and depression descended continuously for three period. 2.Change tendency of the incidence:The incidence on factors of obsessive-compulsive, interpersonal sensitivity, phobic anxiety ascended during discharge compared with admission. Then, these factors scores descended. The other factors went down continually for three periods.3. The self-esteem was influencing factor on mental symptoms of SARS patients for three periods.Conscientious condition severity was influencing factor in admission and discharge.Negative coping was influencing factor in discharge and three months after SARS crisis. Education was influencing factor in three months after SARS crisis.4.After intervention ,the most mental symptoms of 35 SARS patients had mental problems were improved. Dissimilarly, a part of mental symptoms got severity. Conclusions 1.SARS patients exist severe mood disorders and have different influencing factors for three periods. They should be evaluated continuously and be intervened in time.2.The effect of mental intervention by telephone is not uncertainty.

ABSTRACT

The existence of HBV-DNA in the mononuclear cells of peripheral blood and in the serum of 61 patients with HBV infection was determined with southern blot and dot blot hybridization, and that in the liver tissue of 31 patients out of the 61 with southern blot and in situ hybridization. The positive rate of HBV-DNA in the serum, mononuclear cells and hepatocytrs was 26.2% (16/61),24.6% (15/61) and 44.8% (13/31) respectively. There was no concordance of the existence of HBV-DNA in the serum, peripheral mono-nuclear cells and hepatocytes in an individual. For example,HBV-DNA was absent in the serum but present in mononuclear cells and hepatocytes in 11 cases. In fact, peripheral mononuclsar cells can serve as the reservoir for HBV to replicate. It cannot be denied that HBV can replicate in an individual even though HBV-DNA is negative in the serum.
